Developing: Suspicious Person in Glen Meadow Estates
The Homeowners Association is reporting that a 6-foot black male in his 20’s is driving around Glen Meadow Estates in a gold sedan and casing homes to burglarize. According to the email sent out a few minutes ago, the man knocks on the front door and if no one appears to be home, he attempts to get in from the back. Police have been called and are investigating the situation.
Stay safe out there, neighbors.

Are You Ready For Super Bowl of Indian Dancing?

Gonzo: “I want to go to Bombay, India, and become a movie star.”
Fozzie: “You don’t go to Bombay to become a movie star! You go where we’re going: Hollywood.”
Gonzo: “Sure, if you want to do it the easy way.”
That exchange from The Muppet Movie comes to mind whenever someone mentions Bollywood, Slumdog Millionaire, or anything else related to Indian entertainment. And those things were mentioned to me this week by ESD and SMU graduate Krishna Parmar, who is the director of Raas All-Stars, a dance competition coming to the Eisemann Center in Richardson on Saturday.
Parmar said the competition is being hosted by a group of young professionals who all went to ESD, Greenhill, and St. Mark’s. It will feature seven collegiate Indian dance teams from around the nation. “It’s like the Super Bowl for these teams,” Parmar said. In addition, Raas All-Stars benefits Ekal Vidyalaya — a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating illiteracy off the face of rural India.
So, it sounds like a worthy cause as well as a much more interesting way to spend a Saturday evening than you had previously planned. Win, win.

It doesn’t take much to draw North Texas golfers to area greens, but the beauty of one of the state’s most coveted courses and the promise of a trip to the 2012 Masters surely sweetens the deal.
That’s what a Dallas non-profit is offering April 25 at Prestonwood Country Club. Registration for The Golf Roundup for Life, benefitting the Downtown Pregnancy Center, kicks off at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
“This is just a great way to show support for the Center,” said seasoned golfer and veteran realtor, Ron Perry, who won last year’s Hole in One prize excursion to Augusta. “It was quite exciting. At first, I didn’t even know there was a trip involved. I wasn’t thinking about it really. I was just trying to play golf, make a good shot and help out my team.”
