So … What Else is Going on at ESD?

Obviously, we’re in way too deep to stop covering the Does’ lawsuit against Episcopal School of Dallas. Claire will be at the courthouse until the jury reaches a verdict. But, as the start of classes approaches, I don’t want her coverage of the trial to be the only stories we publish about ESD this year. The school is far too large to let this controversy be the only way it is represented to outsiders.

If you’re an ESD parent or student who has an idea for a story unrelated to the trial, please contact me at editor@peoplenewspapers.com or 214-523-5272. The same goes for parents and students from any of the schools in Preston Hollow.

Not exactly, Mr. Travis. Three parents have contacted me by phone or email, as I requested. I never said parents or students should leave suggestions in the comments.

I appreciate your altruistic motives but you are either a journalist or a trade days paper with filler. Your reporter has done a terrific job thus far. If this is to continue there should be no fear of reprisals or “balancing” a very serious story with fluff.

There is always something GOOD going on at our private schools, and public ones, too. A lot of our kids are extremely active in community service, and not just “because it looks good on college applications.”

This was a difficult summer for a lot of our schools, either 4 or 5 students just from area private schools passed away.

I think the timing of the request was excellent, although Claire is doing a great job on her reports.

    Dan:

You’re kidding, right? Your attempt to make nice with the ESD community after your so-called reporter trashes the school every day is pathetic. Face it – you have lost crediblity with that community.
