String of Weekday Burglaries Hits The Hollow

Six burglaries in six days is pretty unusual for a neighborhood in Preston Hollow. Even more so, all the crimes occurred during the week. The criminals targeted the area around the Hockaday School, including Alta Vista Lane and Hallmark and Hockaday drives.

12 MONDAY

After 6 p.m., a burglar broke into a locked garage through a side door in the 4300 block of Alta Vista Lane, and stole a $900 Trek black and silver bike, and a $400 black and orange bike.

13 TUESDAY

After 7:30 p.m., a burglar broke into a 2008 gray Lexus in the 4300 block of Hallmark Drive, and stole a bank checkbook. The burglar also broke into the owner’s 2006 gray Toyota, but nothing was reported stolen. 556

After 10 p.m., a burglar entered two unlocked cars in the 4300 block of Hockaday Drive and stole a $3,000 laptop. The burglar also entered the home of the vehicle’s owners through an unlocked back door and stole $140 cash and various credit cards from the owners’ wallet and purse.

14 WEDNESDAY

Before 5:30 a.m., a burglar broke into a locked garage through a side door in the 4300 block of Hockaday Drive, and stole a $50 combo kit, and check stubs.

Before 6:30 a.m., a burglar broke into a shed in the backyard of a house in the 4300 block of Alta Vista Lane, and stole a $600 Stihl gas hedge trimmer, and a $250 Lowes brand lawn mower.

15 THURSDAY

Between 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 13 and 3 p.m. on Sept. 15, a burglar broke into a 2001 white Ford in the 4500 block of Mill Creek Road by breaking a window and causing $200 worth of damage. The thief stole a Texas driver’s license, a school ID card, and a credit card.
