What in The Hollow Are You Doing This Weekend?
With the NHL embroiled in another lockout, you won’t be seeing ice hockey anytime soon. But you can enjoy some field hockey this afternoon. ESD will host Houston St. John’s at 4 p.m., and then, somehow, Hockaday will host the same team at 5:45. Sounds like an easy win for the Daisies.
If football is your preference, ESD takes on Cistercian for homecoming; kickoff is scheduled for 7 o’clock. Speaking of homecoming, W.T. White will beat the tar out of Sunset beginning at 7:30.
OK, enough sports. How about music? Lu Mitchell is scheduled to take the stage at Uncle Calvin’s Coffeehouse this evening. Looking for something more kid-friendly? The Hey Lollies will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday in NorthPark Center’s North Court.
While you’re at the mall, you can check out ”On My Own Time.” This annual, regional art competition, which closes Sunday, features the artistic talents of business professionals throughout North Texas. Each year, area companies hold in-house exhibits featuring artwork created outside of working hours by their employees. The winners from each company’s competition are displayed on NorthPark’s first floor, between Macy’s and Dillard’s.
