President George W. Bush’s Dog Dies
Former President George W. Bush’s beloved Scottish Terrier, Barney, has passed away. Barney had been a Preston Hollow resident since President Bush’s second term ended.
The statement released on Facebook today says: “The little fellow had been suffering from lymphoma and after twelve and a half years of life, his body could not fight off the illness…He never discussed politics and was always a faithful friend. Laura and I will miss our pal.”
During the White House years, a “Barney Cam” streamed online; videos are still up to view. The Bush Center also tweeted this oil painting of Barney by President Bush:
