What in The Hollow Are You Doing This Weekend?

There’s not a whole lot going on in The Hollow this weekend, so I suggest everyone have their own Mardi Gras celebrations, if you’re into that. There are a few events to note, however, so I’ve listed them below.

If you’re a fan of Paula Deen’s Southern cooking, but not a fan of the copious amounts of grease and calories her recipes entail, here’s a chance to get all the flavor without the fat. Her son, Bobby Deen, will be discussing and signing copies of his book, From Mama’s Table to Mine: Everybody’s Favorite Comfort Food at 350 Calories Or Less, tonight at 7 p.m. the Lincoln Park Barnes & Noble.

And then tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Barnes & Noble, Gayle Pruitt will be discussing her Dog-Gone Good Cookbook: 100 Easy, Healthy Recipes For Dogs And Humans.

More events after the jump!

From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, NorthPark Center will be having a Valentine’s Day cookie-decorating event. It’s $10 per cookie, but all funds go to providing homeless families with basic needs and housing, which sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Also happening at NorthPark Center, from 1-4 p.m. bring your children to level two in Neiman Marcus, where they can create pretty Valentines Day cards.

On Saturday, the JCC is hosting a “Ka-Ching Fling.” Tickets are available until 3 p.m. today by sending an email here, or at the door.

On Sunday from 12-5 p.m., kids can decorate Valentine’s Day cookies at NorthPark Center, with proceeds benefitting the homeless (see above).
