Several Schools in UIL Baseball Playoffs

When it comes to making the playoffs in baseball, head coach David Shepherd and the W.T. White Longhorns are automatic. Thirty-one straight years, to be exact.
W.T. White (21-9) opened the Class 5A state playoffs with a 3-1 victory over Allen (18-10-2) in Game 1 of a best-of-three series last night. Game 2 is at 5 this afternoon at W.T. White. If necessary, Game 3 will be at noon Saturday at The Colony. The winner will face the Rockwall-Heath-Garland Lakeview Centennial winner in the area round next week.
In the bottom half of the Region II bracket, Jesuit (24-11-1) is taking on McKinney (16-11) in a best-of-three series. The Lions took Game 1, 6-5. Game 2 is at 7:30 tonight at Jesuit. If necessary, Game 3 will be at noon Saturday in McKinney.
The winner of that series will face Rockwall in the area round.
In Class 4A, Hillcrest beat Molina, 9-1, in a one-gamer. The Panthers will take on the Frisco Wakeland-Colleyville Heritage winner in the are round.
Thomas Jefferson is also playing North Dallas in bi-district. Game 1 is at 6:30 tonight at Reverchon Park. Game 2 is at noon Saturday at TJ. If necessary, Game 3 will follow. The winner will take on the Forney-Frisco Liberty winner in area.
