Big Games For Parish, Jesuit on Tap This Week

Dominic Williams has rushed for 636 yards and nine touchdowns for Parish this season.

Two weeks ago, the debut of Parish Episcopal’s colorful new home turf ultimately left the Panthers feeling blue, as Glen Rose rallied for two late touchdowns to spoil the evening for Parish.

On the bright side, however, the Panthers are perfect in three road games thus far, and they have a chance to atone in front of the home fans in a more meaningful game Friday night against Pantego Christian.

Parish (3-1, 1-0) has averaged 42.7 points over its last three games, including a 42-14 blasting of Flower Mound Coram Deo last week. In that game, Dominic Williams rushed for two first-half touchdowns to help the Panthers to a 35-0 advantage.

Williams, a sophomore, has been dominant this season with 636 yards and nine touchdowns through four games (he also has caught a scoring pass), but the Parish offense has shown some nice balance overall.

Tom Stewart has passed for 857 yards and seven touchdowns with no interceptions. Two receivers — Xavier Suggs and Bryson Ingrams — each have at least 14 catches.

With the Panthers rounding into form, it’s also important to note that they don’t share a district this season with Dallas Christian, which was the only team to beat Parish in league play in each of the past three years.

Pantego (3-1, 1-0) also has started strong this season, including a decisive 33-7 win over Fort Worth Southwest Christian in its district opener last week.

Hill Alexander has proven an effective dual-threat quarterback for Pantego. He’s rushed for 588 yards and seven touchdowns, and passed for 462 yards and seven more scores.
