Like unlocked cars and families that are away on vacation, burglars will always have a soft spot for your SUV and the bench your kid sits on.
This past week, four more third-row seat burglaries — popping open the back window and removing the seat — were committed in Preston Hollow. While there is nothing that can keep your back window latch from being bypassed, a few tips would be to keep your SUV backed up to your house or in your garage.
Between 8:50 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 18, a burglar broke into a maroon 2011 Chevrolet Suburban in the 3800 block of West Northwest Highway and stole a $3,000 third-row seat.
After 11 p.m. Oct. 19, a burglar broke into a white 2011 Chevrolet Suburban in the 4200 block of Merrell Road and stole a $1,500 third-row seat and $400 worth of birthday presents.
Between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 20 a burglar broke into a white 2007 Chevrolet Suburban at a hotel in the 3800 block of West Northwest Highway and stole a $4,000 third-row seat.
After 11 p.m. Oct. 20, a burglar broke into a blue 2007 Chevrolet Suburban in the 4000 block of Adrian Drive and stole a $500 third-row seat.
