Lamplighter Car Wash Rocks Hard, Raises $6,000

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a sucker for kid rock bands. I find them precious. I know that’s probably not the vibe a teen rocker is going for, but since my college roommate watched School of Rock on repeat for an entire semester, the impression is indelible. Sorry, kids.

On May 19, The Happy Alright, a pop-punk band featuring Lamplighter alumni Quinn Breitfeller and Sterling Gavinski as well as Bradley Barteau, performed two sets while volunteers slaved away in the school parking lot, washing cars to the tune of $6,000 in donations. The Young Alumni Association organized the fundraiser, which benefits the school’s land fund.
