Congratulations to former Jesuit standout Jordan Spieth, who went Down Under for his second professional tour win over the weekend at the Australian Open in Sydney.

Spieth, a Preston Hollow native, fired a course-record final round of 8-under par 63 to claim the title. He finished with a tournament score of 271 (13-under), and is the first American to win the tournament since 1993.

The title is the first for Spieth, 21, since his first PGA Tour win last summer in the John Deere Classic. He’s had several close calls since then, including a runner-up finish at the Masters and a few other top-10 finishes.
