Al Biernat’s Celebrates 20 Years With a Refreshed Look

New custom brass bar shelving, green Mohair booths, and David Yarrow prints are just a few upgrades Al Biernat has made to celebrate its’s 20th year in Oak Lawn.

The makeover comes with news that the renowned Dallas steakhouse has renewed its lease for an additional nine year.

The restaurant temporarily closed its doors early July for the renovations.

Wife Jeannie Biernat and the couple’s right-hand man Brad Fuller once again lent their aesthetic to the renovation—the duo, if you recall, were behind the sleek $4 million decors at the restaurant’s new Spring Valley location that opened last year. They planned to give the space a lighter and brighter feel, harkening back to the airy aesthetic it boasted 20 years ago. The restaurant has had two redesigns over the years.

Customers of the North Dallas location will recognize the green mohair on the brand new channel back bar booths, custom brass and glass bar shelving, and tile from Exquisite Surfaces.

The old broken granite bar was replaced with sexy black Soapstone from Walker Zanger, and lighting by Currey & Co. and Jason Miller lend a soft focus to the room. The iconic dining room didn’t change much; instead, it gained more natural light thanks to additional windows and some walls opening up.

“We continue to evolve at Al Biernat’s, keeping a fresh look with modern elements, yet adhering to the clubby atmosphere and timelessness that Dallas has grown to love,” shares Fuller. “This remodel syncs the look of both our locations.”
