Preston Hollow has lots of interesting yard art, but this sculpture on Ursula Lane is a real pisser.

Honoring Ally
Yesterday, friends and family of Ally Alexandrou honored and remembered her by stopping by the Chick-fil-A on Inwood Road. Ally, a Bishop Lynch student filled with energy and passion, tragically passed away this summer. Throughout the afternoon, Chick-fil-A donated part of their profits to the Ally Alexandrou Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bishop Lynch High School. Because of Ally’s love of animals, guests had the opportunity to adopt a pet from Petsmart and the Humane Society of Dallas Country. If you did not get a chance to stop by yesterday, you can honor Ally by donating to the Ally Alexandrou Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Humane Society of Dallas County Guardian Angel Program.

The Dog Days of Summer

DFW Rescue Me volunteers bathe and shampoo a Preston Hollow puppy.
DFW Rescue Me sponsored a dog adoption and fundraiser at the Whole Foods Market at The Shops at Park Lane, on May 28. The fee to adopt was $200 per dog. The proceeds went to the nonprofit organization to sponsor other adoptions. Fifteen dogs were waiting for new homes and were available for shoppers to play with.
The DFW Rescue Me volunteers also washed and towel-dried shoppers’ dogs. For a $7 donation, owners were given doggie treats and shampoo samples. Looking for a new puppy? Want to help a puppy in need? For more information on the organization, click here.

If you’ve driven down Meadow Road over the last several months, you may have seen an unusual sight. Weezie Margolis has a pet pig named Petunia, whom she walks four times a day. Want to know why? You’ll just have to pick up a copy of this week’s Preston Hollow People to find out. (A tip of the hat to Lydia Player for clueing us in to this story.)
