  • Driveway Doubles as Training Track

The Coulter family knows how to make the most of a snow day. McKenna, a sixth-grader at Providence Christian School, takes a ride down the driveway on a trashcan lid as Taffy the faithful Lab trains for the Iditarod. Third-grader Michaela leads Taffy to the finish as brother William looks on.

And the secret of success? “They kept feeding Taffy treats to get her to drag McKenna,” said mom Juliette.

If we give out treats, will more people send in videos? I’m willing to try it.

  • Local Children Participate in Ringling Bros. Circus

Check out Preston Hollow’s own Jesse Patterson, 13, as she successfully hula hoops on all four appendages. Patterson has been a student of Lone Star Circus School for one year and enjoys doing hoop-related tricks. Patterson and a few dozen of her fellow circus students enjoyed private tutorial sessions with the performers of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Tuesday afternoon. Students from Lone Star Circus also participated in the Pre-Show on the main stage, performing various acts of contortion, juggling, and silk acrobatics.
