Greenhill School’s Scott Griggs announced Aug. 22 he will conclude his 18-year tenure at the end of the 2017-18 school year.

During his time at Greenhill, Griggs, who started his position as Head of School in 2000, has overseen many outstanding contributions to the school, such as two successful capital campaigns that altogether raised $80 million, 16 consecutive budget surpluses, and growth of endowments to $50 million. These financial triumphs allowed the school to accomplish several goals, from new programs to building and expanding facilities.

In a letter to the board, Griggs said:

I have had the distinct privilege and honor of leading Greenhill, a singularly inspiring experience made possible by the entire community – students, faculty and staff, parents, alumni, and friends. Together, we have accomplished a great deal and advanced the mission of the School in remarkable ways.

According to a release from Greenhill, details on the search for the new Head of School will be released soon.
