Jesuit Soccer Player Dies After Car Wreck

Guy Delaney, a sophomore soccer player at Jesuit Dallas, died Wednesday night after a car accident involving his family, campus officials announced.

“Words cannot describe our immense sorrow,” school officials said in a post on the campus website and social media. “Please pray God’s love and peace for the Delaney family and for one another during this difficult time.”

The school held a prayer service on Thursday morning as well as a private Mass for students and planned to make individual and group counseling available.

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, the post had been directly shared more than 90 times and hundreds of comments offered their thought and prayers to the Delaney family, the Jesuit students, and for the Jesuit Community as a whole.

Details about the crash were not immediately available.
