Park Cities School of Music Celebrates Five Years with Talent Show

Park Cities School of Music will ring in their five-year anniversary this fall with a celebration of young talent in the Park Cities and beyond.

Founder and instructor Eva Brandys, along with her staff of elite music teachers, will host a Talent Show & Open House September 10, in which kids ages 5-18 can step on stage and perform for the chance to win a guitar and a trophy, and to have their picture seen on parkcitiespeople.com.

There will be drinks and bites and an art activity room where kids can participate in an art contest produced by Park Cities School of Music’s sister school, Lakewood Conservatory of Fine Arts, specializing in music, art and dance lessons.

Brandys’ musical education goes back to her roots in Eastern Europe, where she was classically trained from a young age in then-communist Poland. After fighting her way out of Poland via achieving full scholarships to SMU and Dallas Baptist University, she developed her current teaching methods.

Her methodology was shaped from her own childhood experience: the good, strict practice schedules, and the bad, bloody fingers and verbal abuse. Contrary to how she was taught piano, she and her talented teachers motivate students through love and inspiration.

Park Cities School of Music offers a wide variety of music lessons across genres and for all ages. The school offers group and private lessons on the piano, guitar (bass, acoustic, and electric), trumpet, clarinet, violin, drums, voice, stage presence, music theory, and more. The goal is to produce a well-rounded musician. Music lessons are available in-studio, online, or even in your own home. More than 300 students, from infants to adults, attend classes at the school on Inwood Road and Lovers Lane.

The school is currently enrolling students for fall lessons, which begin August 20. All who enroll will receive a free professional headshot, which can come in handy when you’re entering and winning talent shows.
