The most popular golfer in the world — there’s no more “arguably” in that phrase — turns 22 today. It’s so sad when the best days of our sports heroes are behind them, when they’re just playing out the string until retirement.
Wait, did that just say 22?
Yes, the Preston Hollow resident, former Jesuit standout, current D Magazine cover boy, and all-around cool guy hasn’t even approached the age when most athletes are in their prime. Yet he’s already racked up two straight major titles and is being talked about in the same sentence as the game’s all-time greats.
So hopefully, he’ll take a little time to celebrate and blow out some candles, and then he can go back to the golf course, where he makes us all proud and jealous at the same time.
