After a sweep of Highland Park last weekend, Jesuit is moving on to the Class 6A Region II semifinals, where Lake Travis awaits.

The best-of-three series will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Concordia University in Austin, then will return to Jesuit’s Wright Field at 7:30 p.m. Friday. A third game, if necessary, would be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Baylor University in Waco.

The Rangers (31-2-2) rallied from a 2-0 deficit to put away the Scots 5-3 in the second game of their regional quarterfinal series on Friday. The previous night, Jesuit earned a 1-0 victory in the opener.

The Cavaliers (24-7-1), who were the District 14-6A champions during the regular season, advanced after beating The Woodlands College Park in three games over the weekend. Lake Travis rallied to win 6-3 in the series finale.

If Jesuit wins this weekend, it would make program history. The Rangers’ only prior appearance in the fourth round of the playoffs was in 2011, when they fell to Klein Oak in the regional semifinals.
