St. Mark’s Headed to SPC Championship Game

The St. Mark’s Lions had no trouble with Houston Bellaire Episcopal, 56-21, in the SPC big-school semifinals on Saturday.

With the win, St. Mark’s (8-1) advances to the title game against Houston Kinkaid (10-0) at 5 p.m. Saturday at Fort Worth Brewer. Kinkaid beat Episcopal School of Dallas, 48-28, in the other semifinal.

Lions quarterback John Webb threw for 392 yards and five touchdowns. Four different receivers — Andrew Caldwell, John Caldwell, Andrew Patison, and Justin Jones — caught touchdowns. Patison had two.

In the small-school semifinals, Cistercian lost to Houston Christian, 61-13.
