After finishing tied for 68th place a 5-over on Sunday, the first-year pro turned right around today and headed to a British Open qualifier at Gleneagles Country Club. He will also throw out the first pitch prior to Tuesday’s game between the Texas Rangers and the Oakland A’s at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Spieth will also go to Fort Worth to compete in the Colonial beginning on Thursday.

Jesuit’s theater students will also be performing a show at 7 p.m. tonight. They’re bringing Neil Simon’s comedy, Rumors, to the stage, and judging by the title, it’s bound to be a riot. Get your tickets here or at the door.

Classical music is probably one of the best ways you could start your day, and there’s sure to be lots of it at Hockaday on Saturday. The school is hosting a piano festival at 8:30 a.m., so why not start your weekend off with an étude or two?

The eigth-grade class of Good Shepherd Episcopal School is hosting a car wash at 10 a.m. on Saturday. If your car is as desperate for a wash as mine is (despite the rain!), swing by and support a great group of kids while spiffing up your ride.

The sixth annual Zweig family bowling fundraiser is happening at 2 p.m. on Sunday at 300 Dallas. I haven’t been to a bowling alley in more than a decade, but I don’t remember the allies I went to looking anything like this.

The Winston School is having a PTO garage/book sale at 11 a.m. on Sunday, so swing by to discover a new treasure or something you never knew you couldn’t live without.

Continuing in their holiday entertainment tradition, there are a myriad of youth performances at NorthPark Center on Saturday. North Dallas Youth Saxophone Choir is performing at 11:30 a.m. in the North Court, followed by the Dallas Asian-American Youth Orchestras at 1 p.m. in the North Court. St. Mark’s gospel choir will perform at 3 p.m. in the Dillard’s Court, and local pianist Brad Hanson will perform at 6 p.m. in the North Court.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Preston Royal Library, bring your kids to hear an entertaining and educational program presented by popular children’s storyteller Dorayne Breedlove.

The performances continue on Sunday at NorthPark with the North Texas School of Irish Music taking the stage at 2:30 p.m. in the North Court followed by the Centre for Dance at 4:30 p.m. in the North Court.

Forget the Mavs, Jesuit’s Young Alumni Association is having a 3-on-3 basketball tournament at 11 a.m.

If you graduated from Ursuline or Jesuit between 2003-09, you’ve got a chance to reconnect with your classmates at 9 p.m. on Sunday for their “Cocktails at Christmas” party. Meet them at Park Tavern where $10 at the door will get you access to the entire bar and drink and food specials all night long.

Although I’ve seen Legally Blonde more times than I like to admit, and although I’ve been known to bend and snap when the situation warrants it, I have yet to see the musical. I’ve heard it’s even more hilarious than the film, which isn’t hard to imagine because setting just about anything to music increases the comedic value. Hillcrest High School students perform the musical tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Got some Xtremely Nergetic Kidz? Looking for an afternoon of Xtreme Ntertainment? head to NorthPark on Saturday when Debbie Day of Xtreme Kidz Ntertainment (it seriously pains me to spell those words like that!) will present “Poca Poca Ding Dong Wig Wam.” 2 p.m. in the North Court. I have no idea what type of presentation she’ll be putting on, but it sounds like it will be very Ntertaining.

Remember Project Runway Season 5′s breakout star, Korto Momolu? She’ll be here this weekend, hosting the Designers Choice Fashion Preview along with Page Parkes and Remi Ayodele, at the Dallas World Trade Center. The show, 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, will feature collections by local DFW designers and the proceeds will benefit W.T. White High School. Click here for more information and to purchase your ticket.

The Jewish Community Center of Dallas is hosting a fun, family event where you’re actually supposed to attend in your pajamas. Bring your kids and learn about the prayers Jews say upon rising from bed in the morning and before going to sleep each night, and decorate a pillowcase with Shema – the watchword of the Jewish faith. It’s 10:30 a.m., Sunday, at the Mankoff Center for Jewish Learning.

Congregation Shearith Israel will be hosting popular Jewish A Cappella group the Maccabeats live and in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday. Originally formed at Yeshiva University in NYC, they have travelled the world performing and have more than 10 million hits on their YouTube channel. Last year’s concert sold out early, and they only have a few tickets left, so purchase your tickets here while you still can.

Royal Lane Baptist Church is hosting an ecumenical Thanksgiving service at 5 p.m. Sunday. Participating churches include Royal Lane Baptist Church, Northaven UMC, Central Congregational Church and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Singers and ministers from each church will be included in the service, and they will be collecting canned goods for North Dallas Shared Ministries.

Join Unity Church of Dallas at Sweet Basil Italian Bar & Grill at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for their “Young at Heart Potluck,” for a fun time of food and fellowship for couples over the age of 50.

If you have any budding authors or illustrators in your family, you might want to bring them to the Northwest Highway Half Price Books at 1 p.m. on Saturday when Dallas author Kay Cole and 12-year-old illustrator McKenna Vaughn will be signing copies of their book, Lonesome Knob, which tells the story of a red-headed girl from West Texas.

Legendary theologian and social activist Tex Sample will present two lectures entitled “The Craft of Justice” and “A Justice of the Common Good” at 9 a.m. Saturday at Northaven United Methodist Church. The morning will also include small group time and discussions connecting his thoughts to local justice issues and strategies.

The top 200 US Youth Soccer boys and girls teams from the 12 state associations that make up US Youth Soccer Region III participated in the Region III Championships in Greenville, South Carolina from June 15 — 21.

After surviving the “group of death” in the preliminary matches and the defending national champions in the quarter-final match, Solar Chelsea ’95 was  crowned the  U-17 age bracket  champions in the Region III US Youth Soccer Championships.  Dante DiCiolli received the Golden Gloves award due to his outstanding performance during the tournament. The Solar Chelsea ’95 team is comprised of players who also play for local high school power-house teams: Jesuit, St. Mark’s, ESD, McKinney Boyd, FM Marcus, Allen, Lovejoy, and Coppell.

The Solar Chelsea ’95 team will advance to the third and final stage of the quest for the National Championship in Rock Hill,  South Carolina, from July 25 — 29.

Keep your fingers crossed it does not pour this weekend, because the last weather report I saw said chances are good. Also, congrats to all the seniors graduating this weekend!

FRIDAY: Lots happening at Jesuit, including a special games day, senior convocation, and senior family BBQ, all starting around 9 a.m.

SATURDAY: The Poetry Society of Texas will have a meeting at 2:30 p.m. in the Preston Royal Library.

SUNDAY: Akiba Academy will host an afternoon Lag B’Omer picnic, after their graduation ceremonies at 10:30 a.m.
