Criminals Have Busy Week in PH

The police blotter in Preston Hollow People for the past couple of weeks has been mercifully slow. I say merciful because 1) that means there is less crime going on and 2) I don’t have to sort through and transcribe so many police reports. Not so lucky this week. The police blotter is loooong and a bit more interesting than usual. Some highlights (er…lowlights):

-Thieves, posing as prospective buyers, steal a $20,676 three-tone diamond ring and $10,650 of other jewelry while being shown a Lupton Drive home.

-A woman in the 10600 block of Sandpiper Lane was choked and robbed of $20 cash on April 28. It was just a couple of blocks away from last month’s armed robbery in the 6900 block of Orchid Lane.

-Three offices in the 10700 block of Preston Road (southwest corner of Preston and Royal) were burglarized on Friday night. Thieves stole upwards of $13,000 of computer equipment.

-A man’s Iraqi passport, along with sundry other items, was stolen from Our Redeemer Lutheran Church across from NorthPark on April 29.

-Adding insult to extremely bizarre insult, someone broke the glass door of Congregation Tiferet Israel in the 10900 block of Hillcrest Road at 4 a.m. on Friday. The same night, thieves broke into Royal Lane Baptist Church right next door and stole a $200 TV/DVD/VCR combo. It’s official: nothing is sacred anymore.

These are just the especially juicy bits. For the rest of the round-up of a busy week in PH crime, check out Friday’s paper.
