Medical Examiner Weighs in on Mysterious Forest Lane Death

You may remember Cameron Luston Cazares, the 31-year-old Garland man found dead in one of the ponds on the north side of Forest Lane between Preston and Hillcrest at the end of February. At the time, no one could explain how or why Cazares had gotten into the pond, just that he was found by a tree trimmer. Curious, to say the least.

Now, following a 12+ week investigation, the Dallas County Medical Examiner has weighed in. The death was ruled “accidental,” caused by the “toxic effects of methamphetamine and drowning.”

Always knew drowning was bad for you.
