Keith Urban to Perform at West Village Tomorrow. Really.

Keith Urban sits on a train, wondering what songs to play at West Village.

When I saw on this news on Twitter earlier today, I thought to myself, “Surely this means Keith Urban will perform somewhere in the West Village, in Manhattan, not at West Village, Dallas.” I then patted myself on the back for being a worldly New Yorker, laughed at Texas, and went about my day.

Turns out I’m a moron.

Keith Urban will perform a free concert at 7 p.m., Nov. 24, at West Village shopping center in Uptown. According to West Village PR pro Katie Beal, he’ll sing four or five songs in front of Taco Diner.

No word on Nicole Kidman’s attendance, though since both of them are Australian,  Thanksgiving probably doesn’t mean a whole lot to them and she might as well swing through Dallas on a random Wednesday, right?

The performance is being taped for Fox’s new American Country Music Awards, which is sure to soon join the Grammys, the CMA Awards, the CMT Awards,  the Academy of Country Music Awards, and the Nashville Songwriters Association International Awards among the pantheon of country music awards.

I’m asking the same question as Julia….what on earth does being Australian have to do with the subject?

Australians should have no qualms about being away from home on an American holiday.

@Julia, Nancy, Judy: I believe Bradford was writing in what we call a “tongue-in-cheek” style. Lighten up, already!

Crikey! Way be over the top rude @judy. My experience of being in other countries on both Thanksgiving and July 4th is that they do not acknowledge those days at all – like we don’t celebrate Boxing Day, or the Queen of England’s birthday.

Why all the nasty remarks? An awesome performer came to Dallas and performed for free. That shows what a really awesome person he is. Now then all you tacky people out there. I hope your Thanksgiving is great and you can think of happy things instead of trying to find something to complain about.
As far as the Autralian question…..they do not celebrate Thanksgiving as we do in the US and since Nicole is married to Keith the question was fitting as to be wondering if she would be here as well. Although you don’t celebrate this holiday Keith and Nicole I still would like to wish you an awesome and safe holiday here in the US and safe trip back to your home in Nashville.
