Like to Run With Sticks?

Hillcrest Lacrosse players in a rare moment of inaction.

Then head over to Airline Field on Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The club lacrosse team at Hillcrest High School is hosting “Try It” clinics for the next three Sundays (Dec. 5, 12, 19). Boys grades fourth through twelfth with an excess of energy and aggression are encouraged to attend. As the sport is classified as “club,” students from any DISD or private school without a lacrosse team are allowed to play.

While I’ve never played the men’s, full-contact variety, I can attest that women’s lacrosse is a high energy, fast moving, aggressive sport. I can only image what adding pads, helmets, and testosterone will do to the game. Equipment will be provided for test driving.
