Hopefully, your weekend plans involve more than watching March Madness with a box of tissues and a endless supply of hot tea at the ready. But my love of college hoops and weak immune system have dealt me the aforementioned fate. For those of you not in my mucus-lined boat, enjoy the following activities:
For only $12, you can hear the musical stylings of 3 Penny Acre and Evie Landin at Uncle Calvin’s Coffee House. At 8 p.m., Landin will open things up on her old-time banjo, accompanied by “percussion master” Keith Terry before the trio of Arkansas folk artists takes the stage.
On Saturday, get in on a little post-St. Patrick’s Day fun with “Irish Fairy Tales for the Fairly Young,” at NorthPark Center. The show is presented by Hazel Sandlin and begins at 2 p.m. in NorthCourt. There are a variety of Purim events in the area this weekend, so take your pick between the Purim masquerade ball at Temple Emanu-El, which begins at 7:30 p.m., and a Purim carnival at 8:30 p.m. hosted by Congregation Tiferet Israel.
Who couldn’t use more love and laughter in life? The Unity Church of Dallas is hosting a “Wake up Laughing, Wise up Loving,” workshop at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
