Rise and Shine, Park Cities (3/30/11)

1) It’s just 54 hours until Opening Day at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Do you have your tickets?

2) Let’s say you’ve always wanted to don the iconic yellow jersey of a Tour de France leader with a pack drafting behind you at White Rock Lake. Well, University Park Preschool Association will host a bike rally just to your liking, complete with yellow jersey featuring a UP Elementary panther on the front. Registration ends on Friday, so if you want in, there’s no time like the present. The ride is open to adults and children 17 and over, but the post-ride celebration is a come-one-come-all event. Contact Rick Perdue at rickperdue (at) hotmail (dot) com.

3) Uptown’s most lovely yarn shop, the Shabby Sheep, was featured in a Channel 5 report on yarn bombing. Awesome? Very much so.

Why do you tell us about important upcoming Scots games (baseball, soccer playoffs, etc.), and then not tell us how they did in the games?

    Just googled it:
HP Boys and Girls soccer won their playoff games, and the Scots baseball team won a thriller 6-5 vs. Heath, with a walkoff 2 run HR with 2 outs in the 7th.

@XT: I usually leave the sports stuff to our very own sports editor Chuck Cox. I wouldn’t want to steal his thunder.

The results of just about every Scots game can be found at your nearest Park Cities People newsstand on Fridays. If you want the news earlier, subscribers receive their copies on Thursday. To get our paper thrown, e-mail [email protected].

I subscribe, and get it thrown on my walkway every Thursday, but I’m sorry, waiting for WEEKLY posting of sports scores just isn’t realistic in this day and age, or the last 30 years for that matter.

Love Chuck’s thunderous overviews, but XT is right. If you post about an upcoming sporting event, you should have the scores in the Rise and Shine. Let Chuck have his thunder and just post the basic score.
