What in The Hollow Are You Doing This Weekend?

In an act of defiance against the cold snap earlier this week, I completely summerized my closet yesterday. All my sweaters, fleece and knee-high boots are officially out of sight and mind. My hangers are enjoying the lighter load, and my legs are just happy to see the light of day again. So don’t rain on my parade, weather.
The Dallas International Film Festival opened last night and has a number of good offerings throughout the weekend. Check out the showings at NorthPark Center. If you can only attend one event, make it the North Texas High School Showcase on Saturday at noon, which features two Parish Episcopal Students. “Thank You” by Daniel Pappas and “The Power of Wind” by Alex Wonks will both be shown.
Once you’ve had your fill of cinema, kick back with the private school fundraiser of your choice. Dallas International School is taking over the Intercontinental Hotel with a Russian Gala at 6:30 p.m. The Shelton School staked its claim on the Frontiers of Flight Museum for the Shelton Stampede Auction at 7 p.m., and Parish Episcopal is holding a father-daughter dance at 7 p.m. in the atrium of Kleinert Tower.
Round out the weekend with the 18th annual Kosher Chili Cookoff at Congregation Tiferet Israel. Lunch will be ready at 11 a.m. and don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Jewish Family Service Food Pantry.
