Just a few precious hours stand between you and the 48-hours of freedom that is the week’s end. Before that time comes, ponder these entertainment options.
Friday: If you’re looking to have a little gender-specific fun tonight, send the men over to Christ The King Catholic Church for a 5 p.m. fish fry and the women to Dallas International School for a Mom’s Club meeting at 7 p.m.
Perhaps you’d like to keep your significant other on your arm all night. No problem. Head to Lovers Lane United Methodist for “Shine On!” Rays of Light fundraiser benefiting special needs children. The fun starts at 7 p.m. at the Park Cities Hilton.
Saturday: Don’t waste your weekend sleeping late, catch Brian McLaren at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church bright and early at 9 a.m. McLaren will discuss “The Vital Connection.” For your evening entertainment, check out the St. Alcuin auction “Midnight in Marrakech” 6 p.m. at the House of Blues.
Sunday: How often can you celebrate the 125th anniversary of anything? Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at 11 a.m. at Congregation Shearith Israel. The festival honoring the synagogue’s 125-plus years of existence as well as head rabbi William Gershon’s 13th anniversary. As part of the celebration, Craig Taubman and his band will perform.
