T. Boone Pickens ‘Stunts Heavy’ on Drake
Now there’s a headline I never thought I’d get to write.
Perhaps you’ve heard by now of the one-line Twitter exchange between affable oilman T. Boone Pickens and rapper Drake. Brief recap if you’re too lazy to click the link: Drake tweeted “The first million is the hardest,” which prompted Pickens to quip “The first billion is a helluva lot harder.”
I occasionally blog about Pickens’ comings and goings (because he is a well known Preston Hollow resident and because he could one day decide to invest in media companies), but I had to chime in on this conversation for another reason. While all the commentary I’ve read on the subject has been amusing, I have yet to hear someone point out that Pickens’ tweet slam was a modified version of his book title, which reads The First Billion is The Hardest.
