Race For The Cure, Meet Race For The Chocolate

Runners, take your mark. The Hot Chocolate 15k/5k is approaching, meaning this year you’ll be able to have your Valentine’s candy and feel good about eating it, too.

Greenway Parks resident Cecilie Holman and 20 other members of the Dallas chapter of the National Charity League will be among those volunteering at the event, which benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Race(s) begin at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 9 at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park, and get this: instead of a post-run banana and/or granola bar, participants will be gifted with a mug that includes chocolate fondue surrounded by marshmallows, pretzels, and Rice Krispies after crossing the finish line. Yes, please.

FYI: Racing in the 15k will run you $68; the 5k is $48. Bonus: In addition to the aforementioned mug-of-treats, all participants will receive a hooded sweatshirt upon completion of the race. Ready to run? Click here to register.
