YMCA Vote May Happen Tomorrow

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Voting to approve the ordinance detailing how to reconstruct the Park Cities YMCA, a project over a year in the making, may happen at tomorrow afternoon’s University Park City Council meeting. It’s here on the agenda, where you can see a revised version of the draft, updated on Friday.

Wednesday, the council met in a special meeting to discuss the possible realignment of the Preston Road and Normandy Avenue. After much discussion, the council voted against a realignment recommendation.

“I may not be a traffic engineer, but I do have a driver’s license,” Mayor Pro Tem Bob Clark joked.

Mayor W. Richard Davis predicts a long meeting Tuesday. “Hopefully we’ll vote this thing finished, virtually,” he said.

I’ll see you at City Hall at 5:00 p.m. to arm wrestle you for a seat.
