Students and staff at Hillcrest and W.T. White high schools are stepping up on behalf of those hurt and displaced last night in the West, Texas factory explosion.

A mobile blood drive is ongoing at W.T. White today, and a school-supply drive will run Monday through Friday next week at Hillcrest, where West ISD Superintendent Marty Crawford once worked as principal.

Hillcrest is also funneling gift cards and financial donations to West to help with relief efforts (checks should be made out to Point West Bank West ISD Disaster Fund).
