Sunday is Bastille Day — how do you plan to celebrate? Sure, you could head to La Madeleine, but personally, I’d recommend Inwood Village’s Rise No. 1 for a more authentic experience. Everything is extremely fresh, and there’s nothing like a sweet or savory soufflé or some “Soupe a L’Oignon Gratinée” (that’s French onion soup) to make you feel like a true francophile. In the meantime, here’s some other fun events to check out.
Head to Bookmarks in NorthPark Center at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday as Stephanie Spelt leads your kiddos in a “literary journey through yoga.” At 2 p.m., Farmer Jason (Emmy award-winning children’s entertainer Jason Ringenberg) uses music to educate kids about the wonders of nature and farm life.
The JCC is having a free yoga session for families at 1 p.m. Sunday. At 3 p.m., there will be an Israeli Scout performance.
At 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Lincoln Park Barnes & Noble, pediatric heart surgeon Hisashi Nikaidoh will discuss and sign Healing Hearts.
