Lucci Holland, a student at Bradfield Elementary School, will turn 10 years old this week. But she has something she wants to do first: reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lucci and her dad, Peter Holland, began their climb on Saturday, with help from about 15 porters. Lucci’s mother, Theresa Christensen, believes that she may be the first American girl to reach the summit of Africa’s highest peak before her 10th birthday.

There’s a charitable aspect to the Hollands’ attempt that you can read about here. But if you want to track their progress, it’s a little more tricky. As best as I can tell, the people behind the Team Kilimanjaro website create a new blog post for each day of the climb. Here’s a link to Day 1. To see pictures from Day 2, you’d need to change the “1a” at the end of that URL to “2a.” Then “3a” for Day 3, and so on.

Good luck, Hollands!
