Michelle Annette Ackels and Michael Scott Roudebush were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on July 13, 2013, at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas. Monsignor Milam Joseph officiated. Scripture readers were Emma Ackels, cousin of the bride, and Molly Powell, cousin of the groom. Nuptial music was provided by organist Michael Conrady; vocalist Catherine Nodurft, cousin of the bride; and trumpeter Steve Fitts.

Following the ceremony, a seated dinner for 400 guests was held at the historic Belo Mansion and Pavilion, where guests danced the night away with the hot sounds of the Emerald City Band. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Dallas Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Edward Ackels Jr. of Dallas. Grandparents of the bride are the late Judge and Mrs. Lawrence E. Ackels Sr. of Dallas, and Mrs. Olga Marina and the late Mr. Simon George Marina of McAllen, Texas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Lynn Roudebush of Austin. Grandparents of the groom are the late Melvin Jack Roudebush, the Rev. and Mrs. Fred Foster Carter Jr. of Montgomery, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Noble Ewan of Midland, Texas.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The bride wore an elegant gown of ivory Chantilly lace, designed by Liancarlo for Stanley Korshak. The fluted silhouette fashioned a sweetheart neckline and featured a satin sash adorned with blue sapphire crystals, which beautifully accented her natural waist. Tiers of lace delicately cascaded throughout the tulle skirt and fell softly to her Jimmy Choo heels. To complete her ensemble, the bride wore a veil of sheer illusion and matching lace, which framed her face and fell gracefully beyond the chapel-length train of her gown. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white peonies.

Attending as matron of honor was Elizabeth Shortall Pulsinelli. Her bridesmaids were Alana Kalantzakis Ackels, sister-in-law of the bride; Katie Ackels, cousin of the bride; Lindsay Dove; Taylor Olivarri; Lori Rebone; Lauren Ridley; and Christine Schumm. Members of the house party were Jordan Civello, Cheney Friedman, Ashley Holaday, and Megan Rogers, cousin of the bride. The flower girls, Faryn and Natalie Marina, and the ring bearer, Drew Pritchett, were also the bride’s cousins.

Serving the groom as best man was Cole Moreland. Groomsmen included Logan Campbell, Clark Mitzner, Alex Roberto, Matt Smith, Alex Truesdale, Jordan Woolf, and Travis Woolf. Ushers included Andrew Ackels, Edward Ackels, and Nick Ackels, brothers of the bride, and Nat Mucha, cousin of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Ursuline Academy of Dallas. She is an honors graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Michelle received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education in 2009 and a master’s degree in elementary education in 2010. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

The groom is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. He is also an honors graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Scott received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in both marketing and finance in 2010, and was a member of the TCU golf team.

Michelle is a second-grade teacher at Christ the King Catholic School in Dallas, and Scott is pursuing a career as a professional golfer.

Following a honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya Mexico, the couple will reside in Dallas.
