Emily Scarborough earned second place in the State Fair’s “creative arts competition” with her T-shirt quilt. The quilt honors her family friend and HPHS graduate, Ethan Beasley, from his kindergarten days through graduation. Beasley was a 2012 football captain for HP and now attends the University of Texas.

The tartan plaid and the backing used in the quilt were imported from Scotland. The quilt is on display in the Creative Arts building at the Fair.
