Era to Soon End For Delivery Family
As I told you on last week’s front page, Park Cities People is transitioning from being a weekly newspaper to a monthly publication. So we’re approaching the end of an era for us, and consequently the end of an era for the Jayroe family. Marilyn, Rodger, and their three children have been throwing the paper since the Jayroes’ 37-year-old son, Peter, was a third-grader.
I know all of this because I’m writing a story about the Jayroes for next week’s paper. To report said story, I rode shotgun with Marilyn this morning as she delivered this week’s paper. At one point, as she drove down Hanover Avenue, Marilyn asked me if I wanted to test my throwing abilities. I took her up on the offer, and she told me I wasn’t half-bad. But if the residents of 3532 Hanover have a problem with the placement of their paper today, it’s my fault.
Dan, was the paper sold? And are you still staying on? (Hope so!)
The paper is still owned by Wick Allison, and I’m still the editor.
