At 2:08 a.m. on Sunday, an officer on patrol saw two people fighting in The Market at Preston Forest. One fighter was in the driver’s seat of a tan 1999 Ford van, and the other was standing next to the open driver’s door. The officer turned on the lights, got out of the car, and ordered the standing fighter to disengage. Under the officer’s direction, the combatant walked toward the officer and sat on the curb. But while the officer was speaking to the person inside the van, the one who had been sitting on the curb got up and fled on foot.
