Jesuit Kicks Off Season For a Good Cause

The Jesuit soccer team is hoping to score in multiple ways when it opens the season this weekend.

The Rangers will host the annual Jesuit-Meintser Tournament beginning today, and will use the occasion to help out the North Texas Food Bank as part of the Score Against Hunger campaign.

The school is encouraging tournament attendees to donate peanut butter and canned meat to collection bins at the ticket counter. Those who contribute will receive not only philanthropic satisfaction, but also a coupon for a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich for their efforts.

Meanwhile, the three-day tournament will feature four games each day. Participating teams include Jesuit, Bishop Lynch, Sachse, North Mesquite, Belton, Fort Worth Nolan, Flower Mound Marcus, and Skyline. The championship game is slated for 4 p.m. Saturday.
