Dallas Stars assistant coach James Patrick was arrested after a domestic dispute at his Bluffview home last week, two days after the Stars were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs by the Anaheim Ducks.

According to a Dallas police report, a man grabbed a woman by the neck at about 1:45 a.m. on April 30 and pushed her against a bathroom faucet, causing a cut on the lip, at a house in the 9100 block of Chapel Valley Road. Patrick, 50, was arrested on an assault charge in connection with the incident, and taken to jail.

Patrick, who played 21 seasons as a defenseman in the NHL, joined the Stars coaching staff prior to last season.
