Dr. Carol Podolsky, right, was sworn in as a Dallas CASA volunteer advocate by Diana Herrera, Dallas County associate judge for the 304th Juvenile District Court.

Dr. Carol Podolsky of Preston Hollow was sworn in as a Dallas CASA volunteer advocate on May 15, meaning she will work as a court-appointed intermediary for abused or neglected children in the foster-care system.

As part of its mission, CASA trains and supervises volunteers to gather critical information and make recommendations that help judges make crucial decisions about each child’s well-being. The CASA volunteer will be with one child or one family of children for as long as they are under the protection of the court and help ensure that the children have safe homes with loving families.

“I’m a pediatrician and enjoy working with children. I really believe if you help one child you change the world,” Podolsky said.
