Les Femmes du Monde, a nonprofit organization helping youth in health and education, kicked off its monthly summer series, Soup and Salad, on May 29. Olive Coe hosted the gathering at her University Park home, and the event featured Jim Falk, President and CEO of World Affairs Council DFW, who discussed ‘Evolution, Revolution and Commotion in North Africa’. Each event will feature a different speaker, and the dates for the coming summer months are to-be-determined.

The organization is hosting two major fundraisers this year: a wine and cheese party in September, a luncheon on October 16, and a black-tie gala on November 8. Proceeds from all events will benefit the Child Life Program of the Children’s Medical Center Healthcare Organization and the International Education Program (IEP) of the World Affairs Council of DFW.

All events are open to members and their guests. Membership in Les Femmes du Monde is open to the public and offers the opportunity to meet new people and learn more about the world we live in. Visit the organization’s website for more information about membership and events.
