SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK

CAUSING A RACKET

At 4:17 a.m. on Dec. 27, police responded to a burglary alarm in the 3000 block of Westminster Avenue and found a man inside a house who fought with officers before fleeing. Daniel Federico Maese, 18, of Highland Park was arrested several hours later on charges of criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

 

HIGHLAND PARK

23 TUESDAY

At 1:06 p.m., Robert Howard Carpenter, 61, was arrested in the 4600 block of Belclaire Avenue on a public intoxication charge.

 

24 WEDNESDAY

At 12:50 a.m., a vandal broke the outer pane of a double-paned window on the back porch of a house in the 4400 block of Bordeaux Avenue. When one of the homeowners woke up to a thumping sound, they saw two men on the porch, one of which was kicking at the window. They fled shortly afterward.

 

At 3:31 a.m., Miranda Reed Ruggeri, 31, of Dallas was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated following a traffic accident at the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Preston Road.

 

Between 3:30 and 10 p.m., a thief entered an unlocked gold 2010 Toyota Camry in the 3100 block of Drexel Drive and stole a $250 Taurus semiautomatic pistol, a $125 Garmin GPS system, and a $50 Buck knife.

 

26 FRIDAY

Between 9:30 and 10:25 p.m., a thief stole a Chanel wallet that someone dropped at Highland Park Village. Police eventually found the wallet in the 5300 block of Preston Road, but it was missing $60 in cash as well as various credit cards

 

28 SUNDAY

At 3:34 a.m., Charles Houston Ray, 26, of Garland was arrested in the 3700 block of Stratford Avenue on a public intoxication charge.

 

 

UNIVERSITY PARK

22 MONDAY

Between 6 and 7:20 p.m., a thief stole a $1,500 Jeep golf cart from a garage in the 4300 block of Glenwick Lane.

 

23 TUESDAY

At 2:10 p.m., a thief stole a $500 Dell laptop computer and a $30 laptop bag from Subway in the 6900 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

 

Between 3 and 6 p.m., a thief entered an attached garage in the 3800 block of Purdue Street and stole a $500 Craftsman toolbox containing assorted tools, and a $150 Dewalt drill with battery pack.

 

Between 2 and 6:30 p.m., a thief stole multiple packages from a front porch in the 3700 block of Northwest Parkway, including $108 worth of shoes, and two other boxes valued at $45.

 

At 8:30 p.m., Elizabeth Anne Secrest, 36, of University Park was arrested in the 2900 block of Southwestern Boulevard on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

 

25 THURSDAY

At 2:55 a.m., Chad Michael Bray, 18, of Dallas was arrested in the 3500 block of Rosedale Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

 

28 SUNDAY

At 3:57 a.m., Lindsay Marie Milam, 22, of Dallas was arrested in the 5700 block of North Central Expressway on a public intoxication charge.

 

At 5:10 a.m., Oscar Augusto Parra, 23, of Grand Prairie was arrested in the 4000 block of Greenbrier Drive on a public intoxication charge.
