Can You Host an Exchange Student?

Javid is an exchange student from Azerbaijan, a country of about 9 million people on the western coast of the Caspian Sea. He’s a senior this semester at Highland Park High School, and he needs a new host family through the end of May.

He’s here on a scholarship provided by the Future Leader Exchange Program. He likes sports including baseball, basketball, and Frisbee, and hopes to learn more about American culture and traditions. You’d need to provide a non-convertible bed, three meals per day, and transportation to and from school activities.

Those interested can contact FLEX local coordinator Matt Nelson at 682-230-5598 or [email protected].

Curious why he needs a new host family, something must have happened with a previous family. Any details on that?
