We all know that kids these days, generally speaking, need to have more discipline in their diets. So kudos are due the Kids in the Kitchen program, operated by the Junior League of Dallas in partnership with United Healthcare.

The eight-week health education program aimed to empower more than 600 Dallas children to eat well and stay healthy by promoting preparation of healthy meals and development of lifelong eating habits.

During the program, volunteers engage with kids in kindergarten through fifth grade during three-hour sessions that include age-appropriate recipe preparations, exercising activities, and fun ways to introduce nutrition and fitness to family members.
