Skulduggery of the week: Sweet Nothing

Between 7 p.m. on July 17 and 9:57 a.m. on July 18, a vandal smashed a cinnamon roll against the front window of a silver 2005 GMC Yukon in the 3600 block of Lindenwood Avenue. The vehicle’s owner suggested the incident was part of a pattern of harassment against a teenager that included a derogatory birthday card left at the house on July 5.

HIGHLAND PARK

14 TUESDAY
Between 10:15 and 11:30 a.m., a burglar broke into a gray 2011 GMC Yukon at the Highland Park Swimming Pool and stole a leather gym bag containing a pair of shorts and a set of Bluetooth earphones.

Between 2:30 and 3:25 p.m., a thief stole $2,295 worth of golf and hockey equipment, along with a $300 Razor scooter and a $200 bicycle helmet from an open garage in the 3400 block of Beverly Drive. The perpetrator also took a $325 pair of Oliver Peoples Jacey Mirror sunglasses, a $100 set of Lexus wireless headphones, and a $20 metallic dog collar from a silver 2015 Lexus inside the garage.

19 SUNDAY
At 5 a.m., Joshua Paul Wilson, 26, of Dallas was arrested in the 5200 block of Preston Road on a public intoxication charge.

UNIVERSITY PARK

13 MONDAY
At 12:22 p.m., two pickpockets stole a $1,200 Louis Vuitton purse from a gray 2009 Toyota Highlander while the driver was refueling at Chevron in The Plaza at Preston Center. The crooks fled westbound on Northwest Highway in a green sedan.

14 TUESDAY
At 2:15 a.m., Isidro Loredo-Martinez, 38, and Francisco Ortiz, 24, of Dallas were each arrested in the 3500 block of Lovers Lane on a public intoxication charge.

Between 9:15 and 9:40 a.m., a burglar broke into a silver 2013 Chevrolet Suburban at Coffee Park and stole a $300 Tory Burch purse and a $300 iPhone.

16 THURSDAY
Between 9 and 9:30 a.m., a burglar broke into a tan 2012 Honda Odyssey at Germany Park and stole $400 in cash, a $250 pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, a $35 Life is Good backpack, and a $35 Vera Bradley wallet.

17 FRIDAY
Between midnight and 7:30 a.m., a thief stole $300 in cash from the register at Subway in the 6900 block of Hillcrest Avenue. An employee is suspected of embezzling the money.

Between 10 and 10:20 a.m., a burglar broke into a tan 2014 Honda Accord in the 3600 block of Purdue Street and stole $4,009.20 in cash.

18 SATURDAY
Between 11:39 p.m. on July 17 and 12:19 a.m. on July 18, a thief stole a $900 Cannondale boys bicycle from an open attached garage in the 3900 block of Stanford Avenue.
