HP Harriers Ready for Postseason Run

The regular season is over for the Highland Park cross country teams, and they hope the next step will involve a run to the state meet.

The first postseason hurdle for the Scots comes on Thursday at the District 10-6A meet at Warren Sports Complex in Frisco. The girls race begins at 9 a.m., followed by the boys race at about 9:55 a.m.

Andrew Kliewer has been the top runner for the HP boys this season, while Hope McLaughlin has paced the girls. The top teams and individual finishers on Thursday will advance to the Class 6A Region II meet on Oct. 26 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.

The UIL state meet is slated for Nov. 7 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
