Fourth-grade Lamplighter students explored their wild side at the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center last month.

The manmade wetlands habitat is part of the Rosewood Seagoville Ranch property near Seagoville.

The students spent a day at the habitat learning about the wetland ecosystem, including lessons on bird migration and water conservation. The wetlands educators also explained how the ecosystem cleans the water from Lake Lavon for the city’s use.
