Police Report: Dec. 30-Jan. 3

Skulduggery of the week: NEW YEAR’S LEAVE

At 9:51 p.m. on Dec. 31, a disturbance call led to officers busting a house party in the 3600 block of Drexel Drive that included more than a dozen rowdy teenagers, some of which are Highland Park High School students, and plenty of alcohol. One boy was taken to the hospital with possible alcohol poisoning after stumbling and resisting help in an adjacent alley. A teen who lives at the house was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor and minor in possession, while five others were cited for consumption and released to their parents.

HIGHLAND PARK

30 WEDNESDAY
At 3:45 p.m., a thief stole a $1,000 concrete circular saw from a residential construction site in the 3700 block of Mockingbird Lane. The perpetrator claimed to be looking for a job, then grabbed the saw and fled in a heavily damaged Toyota sedan.

31 THURSDAY
At 12:21 p.m., an employee at a house in the 3900 block of Gillon Avenue reported the theft of a green 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit, valued at $4,000, from a rear driveway on the evening of Dec. 24. That’s when three miscreants drove up in a silver late-model sedan and rummaged through an unlocked white 2011 Chevrolet Suburban, finding the keys to the Volkswagen in the center console.

1 FRIDAY
At 8:01 p.m., Jordan Lee Payne, 35, of Rockwall was arrested in the 4700 block of Abbott Avenue on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

3 SUNDAY
At 4 p.m., a vandal used a BB gun to shatter a window at a house in the 3700 block of Stratford Avenue, causing $1,500 in damage.

At 10:45 p.m., the driver of a late-model Chevrolet pickup struck a pedestrian walking a dog at the intersection of Lomo Alto Drive and Beverly Drive. As the victim fell to the ground with minor injuries, the driver yelled something out the window before fleeing. The dog wasn’t hurt.

UNIVERSITY PARK

30 WEDNESDAY
At 3:19 a.m., Bryant Petrillo, 33, of Dallas was arrested in the 3900 block of Greenbrier Drive on a public intoxication charge.

Between 6 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 30, a thief stole a $40 Garmin GPS unit from an unlocked white 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 2900 block of Stanford Avenue.

Between midnight and 12:20 p.m., a thief stole three Rheem air-conditioning units, valued at $12,000, from a residential construction site in the 2700 block of Milton Avenue.

At 10:10 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $22 Miss Belt waist trimmer from CVS at Park Cities Plaza.

31 THURSDAY
Between 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 and 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 31, a thief stole the third-row seat from an unlocked black 2010 Cadillac Escalade in the 3900 block of Amherst Street.

At 9:38 a.m., a prowler tried to break into a house in the 4400 block of Stanford Avenue. Nothing was reported stolen.

Between 10 a.m. on Dec. 26 and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, a burglar broke into a black 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 3500 block of Bryn Mawr Drive and stole the third-row seat.

At 10:40 p.m., a group of juvenile vandals caused $500 in damage to some shrubbery in a yard in the 3900 block of Southwestern Boulevard.

1 FRIDAY
Between 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 and noon on Jan. 1, a burglar broke into a tan 2001 GMC Yukon in the 4200 block of Amherst Street and stole the third-row seat.

Between 2:33 and 3:33 p.m., a thief stole a $200 Samsung cell phone from a white 2015 Mercedes SUV at Germany Park.

3 SUNDAY
At 8 p.m., John Dale Dowdall, 70, of Dallas was arrested in the 8400 block of Preston Road on a public intoxication charge.
